Matching Colors

What can you give to occupy your child with autism?

Do you know that they would like to do work? Most of them, are actually workaholics!

They like to do work because of start-do-finish concept. They like that "FINISHED" concept.

That's why giving worksheets are good for them!

It does not only boost their skills in different areas but also gives them the feeling of success.

However, what i'm sharing with you is not a worksheet wherein you use pencil to draw lines or answer on paper.

This is a FILE FOLDER GAME

File Folder Games are not Filing Folders as clerks do but tasks that are designed for children with an autism spectrum disorder.

Children love file folders!!! They are much easy to use.

It lessens meltdowns and encourages success.

Why? It's because file folders are easy, clear, and simple to use. They don't need their fingers to hold a pencil (which some of the children with the autism spectrum disorder find difficult to do), but they only have to match pieces of cards on a folder.

So much easy for them! That's why it brings more success and fewer tears

Here, I am sharing with you a basic matching file folder game for your little ones... MATCHING COLORS!

Matching is an important basic skill that develops a range of different thinking skills which also builds the foundation for other learning concepts such as colors, alphabets, shapes, sorting, reading, etc.

There are many concepts that we introduce to our kids. And one of them is colors!

Colors are kids' favorite. Because they are attracted to colorful things!

Learning colors for some children with autism spectrum disorder may not be easy as it may seem.

I've handled different children in the spectrum disorder and not all of them can match.

Teaching this concept will help them to learn much more difficult concepts in later life

Learning Colors develop their Visual Discrimination.

It also helps to recognize significant visual hues that are present in our environment.

Looking at the traffic lights with different colors (red, yellow, and green) indicates the importance of these hues for our safety.

Signboards that have "red" signage indicate danger or precaution.

Seats in cars or planes also show colors.

When we are in the subway, bus station, or MRT, we see colorful lines that show arrows or cues for the public to see.

So, learning colors is important. It starts with the basic which is matching.

This File folder shows simple basic color matching.

But it also has a reading level for those who can read.

Your child will be able to match color to color, which is the simplest.

Moving up... is color to color with name. Then, match name to its color.

I've added some matching combinations for your guide so you would have some idea of what to give to your child.

Enjoy!

Grab your matching file folder game above!

I hope your little ones will love and enjoy it!
